The fastest way to target DOOH in your omnichannel DSP, with enhanced reporting TTD doesn't provide.
Our planning tools resolve the market, venues, publishers, and individual screens, so your traders never rebuild the media plan inside the DSP. You get a curated Deal ID and a ready-to-upload screen list for every line item. Activation in The Trade Desk takes minutes, not days. Audience segments for the same seat activate through The Trade Desk data marketplace. Native TTD DOOH reporting is limited and does not include DOOH-specific fields like latitude and longitude. We resolve that gap and still let DOOH reporting flow into your dashboard with full transparency into the locations you are running on.
We can structure this as a dedicated PMP per line item, or as an always-on Deal ID with screen-list-to-activation support (the preferred route). Either way, the trader workflow is the same: one Deal ID, one screen list per ad group, uploaded into the Site ID rail.
One always-on deal. No waiting on new PMPs.
An always-on Deal ID means your next campaign activates as soon as the screen list is ready, with no new PMP to build, review, and sign off. We keep the deal live, refresh the screen list per plan, and you launch inside The Trade Desk the same day. The same Deal ID works across every campaign.
The five steps
- 1. Find the deal. Deal Desk, accessed via your Partner Seat. Search the Deal ID from the order form and add it to your campaign.
- 2. Structure the ad groups. One ad group per line item on the approved plan, so each screen list has a home.
- 3. Upload the screen lists. Site ID rail, one list per ad group. Decline the "upgrade" prompt.
- 4. Set the rails. Disable the optimization and quality rails listed below. They are built for display, not screens.
- 5. Upload creative. Associate it with the Deal ID; publisher approval is submitted automatically.

Deal IDs. One. We create a single Deal ID inclusive of all inventory in the open exchange. Teams can also request one Deal ID per tactic, which removes the need for screen lists.
Pricing type. Second price auction.
Creative approval. Once creative is uploaded to your campaign and associated with a Deal ID, it will be automatically submitted and pushed through the publisher approval process.
Two settings that will break your plan
Avoid "Sellers & Publishers 500+" during ad group creation. DOOH is planned against specific deals, venues, and publishers, so this addition pulls in inventory not intended to run for your campaign.
Avoid the "upgrade" option when implementing site list targeting. This setting targets all screens from a given publisher, which causes delivery across screens that are not intended to run for your campaign.
General targeting settings
| Setting | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Koa optimization | Disable |
| Quality Alliance | Disable the "Player Size" and "Viewability" targeting rails |
| Primary KPI | Reach |
| Budget setting | Pace Ahead |
| Frequency | Unlimited at the campaign and ad group level |
| Post-bid viewability reporting | Disable. Viewability measurement is not enabled for DOOH |
| Cross-device targeting | Disable. Not recommended for DOOH |
DOOH trafficking best practices
Creative rotation. All creative are fixed to the image/video file associated with the first bid from a given DSP creative ID, except when using dynamic creative solutions. As a result, you cannot rotate a creative image/video file behind a third-party tag or within a DSP behind a creative entry that has bid prior.
Third-party tags. If using a third-party ad server, traffic either standard display tags absent of animation/HTML, or VAST video tags. VPAID is not supported for OOH.
